A Great Turn Out for Rob Pontes

Last week, Real Skateboards, along with AYC, Brixton, and Emerica hosted the first Roll For Rob event, a fundraiser for long time industry veteran Rob Pontes who was diagnosed with ALS two years ago. A demo was held at Subliminal Skatepark in Shrewsbury, MA, with all proceeds going toward helping Rob with his medial bills and the place couldn't have been more packed. The turn out and support shown for Rob was nothing short of amazing. The skateboarding community is one like no other, and this event proved that. For many skaters, the thought of loosing the ability to stand on your board is incomprehensible so seeing a staple in the East Coast skate scene go through exactly that unites us all. To quote Anthony Shetler, "Everyone understands what's going on and wants to support just 'cause we all have that same feeling about this one thing we all love."

Thank you to all of you who came out to show your support for Rob. If you want to do your part to help, Rob and his family are still accepting donations here
